Leading specialist debt recovery agency, Mackenzie Hall went head to head with politicians in a charity football match in aid of Sense Scotland, raising over £5000.
The politicians were the champions on the day securing a 4 - 3 win against the Mackenzie Hall side with man of the match awarded to Jim Murphy MP. This first time charity match, organised by Mackenzie Hall was held at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie and had all the excitement of a cup final. Former football stars Andy Goram and Frank McAvennie showed their support for Sense Scotland and pitched in to assist the Mackenzie Hall team.
Man of the match, Jim Murphy MP said “It was a great game of football for a fantastic cause. I’m knackered”.
Paul Mackenzie, CEO of Mackenzie Hall raised the stakes on the day and announced that for each goal scored against his team the company would double its donation to £500. Mackenzie said “Fun was had by all while raising much needed funds and awareness for a worthwhile charity”.
Active in many charity fundraisers, Mackenzie Hall has put forward an initial amount of £2,500 and donated a further amount of £2,000 for the goals scored against them. Earlier this month Mackenzie Hall staff raised £600 when they participated in the Irvine New Town trail. On the day the referee and linesmen donated £80. The total raised funds of £5,180 will be given to the charity Sense Scotland that supports children and adults who have communication support needs because of deafblindness, sensory impairment, learning and physical disabilities.
